Spring 2012 Scholarships

Frank Lanza Memorial Scholarship

The Frank Lanza Memorial Scholarships recognize the outstanding academic and leadership accomplishments of students who demonstrate financial need and are enrolled in regionally accredited community college programs in registered nursing, respiratory care or emergency medical services.

Up to 20 scholarships of $2,500 each will be awarded in 2012, for a total of $50,000 in scholarships.

Applicants must have completed 50% of their course work leading towards achieving an associate degree by June 2012. (Certificate students are not eligible to apply).

Apply by completing a Spring Common Application online no later than 5:00 pm, CT, April 1, 2012. (Since the annual deadline of April 1 falls on a weekend in 2012, applications will be accepted through 5:00 pm, CT, Monday, April 2).

 

Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship

The purpose of the Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise scholarship program is to provide new Phi Theta Kappa members with financial resources to help defray educational expenses while enrolled in a two-year college in order

to develop leadership potential through participation in Society programs. Up to 180 scholarships of $1,000 each, a total of $180,000 in scholarships annually, will be awarded based on applications submitted by members. The Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship is the Society’s first scholarship program available to members to be used during the time they are enrolled in their community colleges. To apply, submit a completed Spring Common Application form online no later than 5:00 pm, CT, April 2, 2012.

GEICO Business Student Scholarship

Students who apply for Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarships and are declared business majors may apply for a GEICO Business Student Scholarship. The two top scoring Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise applicants who are declared business majors will each receive a $1,000 scholarship. Information on the GEICO Business Student Scholarship is included on the Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise application.

Dowell Leadership Scholarship

Students who apply for the Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarships, attended a Mississippi high school and are currently attending a Mississippi community college are eligible to be considered for the Dowell Leadership Scholarship. One student will be named a Dowell Leadership Scholar and will be awarded a scholarship of $1,500. Information on the Dowell Leadership Scholarship is included on the Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise application.

 20th annual Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship competition through Boston University

I am pleased to announce the 20th annual Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship competition. The scholarship was established through the efforts of Phi Theta Kappa members to recognize outstanding academic and leadership achievements among students seeking to transfer to Boston University.

Up to five scholarship recipients, chosen from among students nominated by Phi Theta Kappa chapter advisors nationwide, will each receive a renewable, half-tuition scholarship award from Boston University. Nominees must be prepared to enter their program of admission as juniors, and a minimum of 60 transferable credits is required.Scholarship forms

are available on our website. Please share these forms with your chapter members. Each chapter may nominate two outstanding students. The submission deadline for the application and all supporting credentials is March 15, 2012. For more information on how to apply, interested students can visit our website.
