Student Ambassadors 2010-2011

Wake Tech is proud to announce that we have selected 15 Student Ambassadors to serve during the 2010-2011 academic year. Our new ambassadors are a diverse group of Wake Tech’s most outstanding students, meet them below!

Israel Abitbol is an International Student from Be’er Sheva, Israel, where he served in the Israeli army for three years. Currently, he is enrolled in the Associate in Arts program and plans to transfer to UNC-Chapel Hill, and one day enroll in law school. Israel attends the north campus, and is active in the Economics Club.

Molly Boyce graduated from East Carolina University in 2005, where she earned a B.F.A. in Art Education. Although she had always planned on attending graduate school, Molly found that Wake Tech had exactly what she was looking for to hone her skills and prepare her for the workforce. Molly is currently enrolled in the Advertising and Graphic Design program, and plans on one day starting her own design firm.
Lauren Cline graduated from Wake Forest-Rolesville High School in 2008. She is currently enrolled in the Associate in Arts program and plans on transferring to a local university to obtain her undergrad in English Education, and hopes to one day pursue a Master’s Degree. Like many other students, Wake Tech was not necessarily her first choice. However, she now feels that this is where she belongs. In an essay, Lauren wrote that “great minds are shaped here. The future is shaped here. I was shaped here, and I support this school with all I am.”, and we are certain that she belongs here too.
Natalie Currin graduated from Wakefield High School in 2007 and is currently enrolled in the Emergency Medical Science program on Wake Tech’s Health Sciences Campus. After graduating, Natalie plans on obtaining her critical care paramedic license and becoming a flight medic. Natalie is also a Sunday School teacher, and an active member of the EMSSA (Emergency Medical Science Student Association).
Chris Howell is originally from Texas, and graduated from West Brook High School in 2001. For five years, Chris worked with the homeless through a non-profit ministry in inner-city Philadelphia. Last year, Chris decided to go back to college and work towards a Nursing degree because it is a profession that will allow him to continue helping people in a tangible way. He is currently enrolled in the Associate in Arts program and plans on transferring to a local university upon graduating, in order to obtain a Bachelor’s in Nursing.

Samantha Ingram graduated from Enloe High School in 2009. She is currently enrolled in the Associate in Arts program and plans on transferring to local university to major in International Business Marketing, to adapt to the new globalized business world. Samantha is an active member of the International Friends Club.
Brandon Kearley is originally from Jefferson, NC and graduated from Ashe Central High School in 1999. After spending several years in the workforce, Brandon decided to come back to college. He is enrolled in the Business Administration program, and plans on achieving a 4-year degree in Marketing, and eventually working in the sports marketing field.

Elizabeth Leak graduated from Southern Wake Academy in 2009 and is currently enrolled in the Associate in Arts program. After she graduates, she plans to transfer to North Carolina State University and double major in psychology and business. Elizabeth hopes to one day be the CEO of a multi-million dollar company. Last year, Elizabeth was a member of the Wake Tech cheerleading team, go eagles!
Michael Megalos graduated from Cary High School in 2007 and is currently enrolled in the Associate in Science program. Upon graduating, Michael plans on transferring to a local university to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Michael is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and is the Vice President of Wake Tech’s Simulation and Game Development Game Club.
Miranda Pontius graduated from Garner High School in 2003 and is currently enrolled in the Medical Lab Technician program at Wake Tech’s Health Sciences Campus. Miranda is actively involved in the CLSSA – Clinical Lab Science Student Association. Miranda one said “Wake Tech has become a second home to me and so many others. It is a place where I can be myself because I am doing something that I love to do, work in a lab as a Medical Laboratory Technician.” We look forward to Miranda helping other prospective students find a second home in Wake Tech.
Jill Sanderford graduated from Middle Creek High School in 2009 and is currently enrolled in the Associate in Science program. After she completes her degree at Wake Tech, Jill plans on transferring to UNC-Chapel Hill and attending their nursing school. Since she was 12, Jill has worked with an organization that focuses on teaching and mentoring children. Jill loves both teaching kids, and helping others learn how to teach kids.
Giannina Scattolin graduated from South Johnston High School in 2003. She is currently enrolled in the Associate in Arts program and plans on transferring out of state for a B.A. in Political Science, and eventually attending law school. Giannina also teaches Sunday School, and is a renowned Zumba instructor.
Jenny Tiet graduated from Northern High School in 2008. She is currently enrolled in the Associate in Science program and plans on transferring to a local university to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene. As a Student Ambassador, Jenny looks forward to taking prospective students on tours and educating them about the many different programs and resources Wake Tech has to offer. As a student in the work-study program, Jenny is especially passionate about the different forms of financial aid and how they can benefit future and current students.
Stephanie Ulm graduated from Southeastern Free Will Baptist College with a Bachelor’s Degree in 2005. She worked as a music instructor for several years, before deciding to return to college to begin down a different career path. Stephanie is currently enrolled in the Associate in Science program. After graduating, she plans on transferring to a local university to earn a degree in Biology and then going to graduate school to become a Physician’s Assistant. Stephanie is also an active member of Phi Theta Kappa.
